THE GRANARY

IC26.jpeg

THE GRANARY is estimated to have been built in the 1930's.  Due to changes in the farming practices over the next 70 years it has been modified several times. However; it still has the original four separate "GRANARY"  compartments where farmers would have saved their own grain for feeding livestock or used the stored grain to plant next years crops. A practice that no longer exists.

On the North Side, you will see what would have been the "CORN CRIB" area where "EAR CORN" would have been stored to dry during the winter months and "Shelled" the following summer. Today both areas display many agricultural antiques and artifacts.

We have built extra large oak tables and placed them in the center of the 48 foot drive-way. Plans are underway to have "FARM TO TABLE" dinners featuring Local Products, Artisan Chefs and Menu's.
